Our work on the photosynthesis of Posidonia oceanica out in Nature Communications!

Our latest work on photosynthesis in Posidonia oceanica has just been published in Nature Communications!

In this work, we uncovered an evolutionary adaptation that enables this seagrass to optimise photosynthesis by reshaping its photosynthetic machinery for more efficient light harvesting and energy transfer. Using Two-Dimensional Electronic Spectroscopy (2DES), we observed energy transfer within the photosystem on a timescale of just a few femtoseconds, providing new insights into the mechanisms that make photosynthesis in Posidonia oceanica particularly efficient.

Congratulations to Mattia and all co-authors! We thank Politecnico di Milano and the Physics Department for spotlighting our work.
